A New Beginning

Chandni, 9, and Ayush, 5, were found living in Shantinagar with their family, who survived on begging. The children had no access to education, healthcare, or stable nutrition. Their living conditions were precarious and their future bleak.

The SNEH team identified the children during a community assessment and worked with local authorities including the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) to arrange their rehabilitation. Both children were placed in Antar Bharti institute, where they now have access to regular meals, education, medical care, and a stable environment.

Their remaining family members continue to be supervised by SNEH's community workers, who provide counselling and support to prevent the children from returning to their former circumstances.

Chandni and Ayush's story is a reminder that child welfare requires not just rescue but sustained institutional support and community follow-up.
