“An important step from addressing malnutrition within specific slum pockets to creating a broader nutrition safety net.”
Recognising that malnutrition in children extended well beyond the urban slums of Pune, SNEH Foundation partnered with Lions Club International to expand its nutrition initiative to the surrounding villages.
The programme reached 500 malnourished children across these areas. Critically, the initiative received direct support from the District Council (Zila Parishad) and the Ministry of Women and Child Welfare — giving it both government backing and community reach.
This collaboration marked an important step in SNEH’s journey from addressing malnutrition within specific slum pockets to creating a broader nutrition safety net across Pune district.
